Hi! I’m Lara. I live in a small mountain town in the Colorado Rockies with my husband, Adam, and our three kiddos. We are arguably the least epic family you’ll ever meet in these parts. However, we do enjoy all things outside: slopes, forrest, stream.
I’m constantly cooking to keep all these bellies full. Perhaps I’m delusional, but I think I’m pretty good at it. So, back in 2009 – the Dark Ages of blogging – I started documenting my recipes here. I like to joke that my blog has nine lives like a cat and I’m currently on my fifth.
In case you were wondering, Roma-Roma is just my childhood nickname for good food. If you try a recipe, please let me know!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Looking forward to trying your delicious recipes.
Gina Bug – It is appropriate that you would be the first person to respond. Love you, girl!
I’m a friend of your mom & dad in OK. So, where do you get sweet rice flour??
Claudia – Yay! It’s so fun to get questions. Some Whole Foods carry it with their other gluten-free flours. I’ve seen two brands, Bob’s Red Mill and Ener-G foods. I use this flour often in baked goods like pie crusts or biscuits, because it helps me achieve a nice crumbly texture. A local health food store might carry it, too. If not, brown rice flour is the closest g-free flour to sweet rice flour. They have very similar carbohydrate, protein, and fiber percentages. Claudia, please let me know if you make this and how turns out for you. Stop back by in a couple of days for a new post.
Hi Lara and Adam, I discovered this blog through the family Christmas Poem and want to see what you’ve learned about Glueten Free. I don’t know much about it. My husband and I have been challenged to try it for 6 months. We love a challenge, so here we go. I’m on facebook, Adam, if you’d like to “get caught up”. Are you? Always love to receive the family poem and see the pic. Much love, Betsy
Hi Betsy,
I’m sorry I didn’t see this sooner! Welcome to the world of gluten-free! I need to get back on the bandwagon and get some new posts up. If you have any questions let me know. We are on facebook, but rarely check in. Adam’s sitting right next to me as I type this and says to tell you hello 🙂
Lara
Glad to see you are “back at it”…what shall we have in May?
Hi Lara and Adam,
Our oldest, Jacob has a wheat allergy and I’m thrilled to see your blog! I hope all ~three~ of you are thriving and flourishing. Blessings to you all from the Murries!
April, glad you found us! Jacob may just be the motivation I need to start posting again. I’m going to email you directly with some questions.
